Monisha Singh Diwan, Award Winning Early Childhood Development Specialist

Monisha Singh Diwan is a child development professional and has over 22 years of experience in the Development, Academic and Corporate sectors. Her quest to better childhoods and her repertoire of experience in Teacher Education, Training and Development; Programmatic Quality Assessments; Innovative Programme Design & Development, Sport for Development and Advocacy for Child Rights and Best Practices in Early Childhood Development and Education spans varied settings and geographies. These settings include schools, colleges, Indian NGOs, UN, International NGOs, and the private sector. The geographies besides the rural, peri-urban and urban India are Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Pacific Islands, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Dubai.

Her quest in her professional journey has been to better childhoods and hence she has worked extensively with educators and caregivers to scaffold their journey as ‘lifelong learners’ and ‘reflective practitioners’, with Parents to help them create, ‘nurturing cocoons’, at home, with schools and managements to create dynamic ‘learning environments’, with Governments to evolve proactive and supportive policies and implementation mechanisms, with communities and varied sectors to work more cohesively for the child and with networks to build greater collaboration, advocacy and change movements.

 

 

Monisha till recently has been contributing as an ECD Consultant at UNICEF EAPRO (East Asia Pacific Regional Office), Bangkok and now is the Director of a consultancy outfit focusing on bettering childhoods. She is an advocate for play as a vehicle for learning as well as life skills especially peace education through Social Emotional Learning. Sanchali Harsha, Principal Architect, Kumar & Swamy Architects, Bangalore

Sanchali has been an artist throughout her life. After completing her school education from various schools all over the country, she joined BMS College of Architecture, Bangalore to pursue her degree in Architecture. In the year 1989, as a 20-year-old student, she participated in a school design competition organized by the practicing Architects Association, Bangalore and won the competition to design the Mallya Aditi School – Bangalore.

In the year 2017, when the prestigious Repton School of UK decided to start its first branch in India, they chose Bangalore as their destination. And they chose Sanchali’s firm M/s Kumar & Swami Architects to work with. Repton School at Bangalore is being built under her close supervision.

Her interior design concepts are different and are user friendly to work with. She has also worked with Levi-Strauss India and has designed various stores for them. She won various design awards at the Asia-Pacific level and the Global level too. She has designed some beautiful interiors in schools and the same are in sync with the curriculum being transacted in the school.

She has designed some of the finest Education and Sports facilities in the country like, The Cathedral Vidya School, Lonavala, Canadian International School, Bangalore, Kumarans School, Bangalore, Dempos Football Academy, National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore and The Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, Bangalore.

K Mohanty – Executive Director – Kaanger Valley Academy, Raipur

Mr. Mohanty has been a passionate educator for over three decades. He has been a visionary in school education and has always tried new experiments in schools. He has been a key player in the running and management of Rajkumar College, Raipur for two decades. From a teacher to a Bursar, he had worked in various capacities with Rajkumar College and has been a great influencer to many young minds.

In the year 2005, he took a bold step in starting the first day-boarding school of Raipur, named Kaanger Valley Academy.
